Everyone deserves clean air, blue skies – and clean water
We depend on clean air, just as we cannot live without clean water. That is why we celebrate in LAGUR also the annual UN Day for Clean Air and Blue Skies on September 7th.
On September 7th, the small globe in the infinite universe celebrates the importance of clean air. That date is the annual 'UN Day for Clean Air and Blue Skies', as it has been dubbed.
Without clean air to breathe, we humans are in a bad place, and there is good reason to highlight this banal truth regularly, because we who inhabit the planet could be much better at taking care of it.
THE CLEAR BLUE SKY IS THE BEST SYMBOL
Air pollution has been a problem in many places around the world for many, many years – probably since industrialization – and we should not forget the value of clean air amidst our preoccupation with sustainability in all sorts of other respects.
We need clean air, best symbolized by the clear blue sky. It's a beautiful sight that we are often blessed with in Denmark, but many other inhabitants of the planet are not so lucky.
MILLIONS DIE EVERY YEAR
Many millions of people live with permanent air pollution from industry and traffic, and in Denmark we can also experience the phenomenon of smog from time to time, when so-called inversion in the atmosphere prevents air pollution from coal combustion from being dispersed and diluted.
In 2020, when the world community celebrated the 'UN Day of Clean Air and Blue Skies' for the first time, it was estimated that air pollution is responsible for the loss of 7 million lives globally per year.
So it is fitting that clean air has its own annual day on the UN calendar – just as is the case with clean water, which is celebrated every year on World Water Day on March 22.
WE MUST TAKE CARE OF THE EARTH'S RESOURCES
IN LAGUR We mark both days, because clean water and clean air are both prerequisites for life and well-being here on earth.
LAGUR is there to make everyday life easier for consumers without limescale problems , without having to compromise on water quality or pollute the environment with wastewater or other residual products, as others water treatment plant can have.
LAGUR keeps the water natural and healthy and, with a very modest power consumption, ensures that consumers can have a more comfortable everyday life without depleting the earth's resources too much, of which clean air is one of the most important and therefore also worth celebrating.
