Lime-free water – the modern solution to limescale problems in the home and property

Lime-free water is a key goal for both private homeowners and businesses – it's about reducing the negative effects of hard water without compromising the natural composition of drinking water. Traditional water softening plants removes the lime physically using salt, but by doing so the water loses natural minerals and has a changed taste.

With LAGUR's patented, chemical-free technology, you achieve the feeling of lime-free water without removing the lime from the water and without adding chemicals or salt.

Get the feeling of a limescale-free home - without removing the limescale

Get rid of limescale deposits in everyday life

Faucets, tiles and shower heads remain nice and shiny in everyday life - limescale is easily removed with a cloth.

Longer lifespan of household appliances

The limescale does not stick to machines, which protects both the electric kettle, dishwasher and washing machine.

Less maintenance and fewer repairs

No need to clean valves, hot water tanks or replace parts due to limescale .

Maintained and stable water pressure

Pipes and valves stay free of deposits so that water pressure remains as it should.

How to get lime-free water LAGUR

LAGUR's system is installed after the main water meter and affects the structure of limescale using electromagnetism and a patented process, the limescale is converted into a form (aragonite) that does not stick to pipes, fittings and household appliances. The result is less deposits, easier cleaning and fewer limescale problems – that is, the experience of lime-free water in everyday life.

At the same time, the water retains its natural minerals and fresh taste because the limescale is not removed from the water, but simply changed so that it does not stick.

Why lime-free water is not good for you

limescale – or calcium – is an important mineral for the body, especially for the bones.

During childhood, the need is great, but limescale also plays a key role in maintaining bone strength in adulthood. For women, this becomes even more important after menopause.

If you have limescale-free water, you are at greater risk of:

  • Osteoporosis
  • High blood pressure
  • Cavities in the teeth
  • Colon cancer

Therefore, it is advantageous to preserve the lime:

Strong bones throughout life

limescale is essential for building and maintaining healthy bones and preventing osteoporosis, especially as we age.

Healthy teeth

limescale keeps teeth strong and resistant to acid damage and cavities.

Natural taste in the water

limescale gives water a fresh, full-bodied taste – in contrast to the flat taste of softened water.

Balanced mineral intake

Limescale is a natural part of the body's need for important minerals and plays a role in both blood pressure and muscle function.

Why choose LAGUR rather than traditional limescale removal systems?
Make lime-free water without losing minerals

When you want water without limescale problems , it does not necessarily mean that everything limescale is removed. It is about changing the ability of lime to cause nuisance. LAGUR changes the structure of limescale , so that it does not bind to surfaces, which in practice gives you the effect associated with traditional lime-free water, but without removing limescale from the water.

Softened water vs. lime-free water with LAGUR

The term decalcified water is often associated with water where the lime has been physically removed through ion exchange (salt-based water softening plants ). With LAGUR you get the experience of lime-free water , because the lime does not stick, but the natural limescale and the associated minerals are still present in the water – which is healthier and more environmentally friendly.

water softening plants Price – what can you expect?

The price of a water treatment system depends on the size and type of installation. LAGUR offers flexible solutions for both private homes and larger properties with the option to purchase or rent. The solution is competitively priced – often cheaper to operate than traditional water softening plants due to low energy consumption and no salt desalination costs.

How much does "lime-free" water cost?

The price of a LAGUR® -system depends on how many people will use it. It can be for one home - or several that go together in a building or property.

Frequently asked questions about lime-free water

Completely limescale-free water is not optimal for health, as limescale (calcium) is an important mineral for the body.

With LAGUR , you get the experience of lime-free water without removing the lime, so the minerals and taste of the water are preserved.

This contrasts with traditional water softening plant, which remove limescale in a process involving salt, thereby increasing the sodium content of the water.

No. With LAGUR , you get the experience of lime-free water, without changing the taste.

Because the limescale and natural minerals are preserved in the water, it retains its fresh, full-bodied taste.

Traditionally, lime-free water is obtained by removing the lime with a water softening plant that uses salt – but this also removes the beneficial minerals from the water.

LAGUR , on the other hand, gives the experience of lime-free water without removing the lime from the water.

The system converts the lime into a fine powder that does not deposit as hard deposits.

Yes, completely lime-free water has disadvantages because you lose limescale (calcium), which is important for the body.

If you remove all limescale from your drinking water, you must ensure that you obtain calcium from other sources in order to maintain healthy bones and teeth.

LAGUR givesthe experience of lime-free water without these disadvantages, as the lime is not removed, but simply changed, so that the minerals and taste of the water are preserved.

Boiling water can make it feel almost lime-free, but the lime is still present.

When water is boiled, the limescale precipitates as scale in the kettle, so the boiled water you pour in contains very little dissolved limescale .

Therefore, boiled water is often considered limescale-free water, even though the total amount limescale in the water is unchanged (it simply remains as limescale deposits in the kettle).

With LAGUR , you get the same experience of lime-free water continuously, without having to boil the water.

LAGUR® is approved for drinking water under the Danish standard, the GDV scheme.

Our certificate can be downloaded here.

Many water treatment solutionson the market are approved according to foreign schemes such as the Swedish SWWA, the Dutch KIWA, or the German DVGW.

Water is often hard, causinglimescale problemswith deposits in hot water tanks and fittings, which also become dull due to the limescale deposits.

Cisterns, pumps and valves become leaky or less effective when limescale builds up, so they need to be cleaned or replaced.

Coffee machines and electric kettles build up limescale and become less efficient, requiring regular cleaning to remove the limescale.

Lime-free water means water with minimal limescale deposits in installations and appliances – either by physically removing the limescale or by changing the the structure of limescale so that it doesn't get stuck.

No. LAGUR changes the structure of limescale , so that it does not settle, but the lime in the water is still present and retains its minerals.

Traditional descaling systems (salt-based water softening plants ) replaces calcium ions in the water with sodium ions, which physically removes the lime. LAGUR changes the shape of the lime using electromagnetism without salt or chemistry.

Softened water often refers to water where limescale is physically removed. The feeling of lime-free water in practice can also mean water where limescale does not get stuck – as with LAGUR's technology, without limescale removed from the water.

You will experience fewer limescale deposits , less need for cleaning and longer life of appliances and installations.
