“I wanted to find a solution that did not require a lot of operation and maintenance, as is the case with the more well-known methods involving water softening plant. It was also important for us not to change the properties of the water too much, as we are very happy with our drinking water as it is.
It has now been three years since we installed the first systems, and I must say that there is a significant difference between how our property without LAGUR and the properties with LAGUR look today. In the property without the system, we have massive problems with limescale, especially in the shower cubicles, kitchen fittings, and washing machines. The investment in a new hot water heater at SuperBrugsen in Ryomgård was the reason for installing a LAGUR -plant. It has now become easier to clean and maintain a high standard of hygiene. The butchery department is particularly pleased with this.
When SuperBrugsen in Ryomgård was to have a new hot water tank installed in May 2019, utility distributor Thomas Koustrup decided, in consultation with Coop Danmark, to take the opportunity to install a LAGUR -system on the main water pipe in the same connection.
"It was an obvious time to do it, when we were going to invest in a new hot water tank anyway. It would be a shame to ruin a brand new hot water tank and other installations with limescale ,” says Thomas Koustrup.
According to technical consultant at Coop Denmark, Bendt Dahl, limescale problems due to hard water are generally a challenge for the group's businesses in Eastern Jutland.
"In addition to solving our limescale problems, another advantage of LAGUR's water treatment system is that it is maintenance-free and supports Coop Denmark's green ambitions in the climate and environmental area by reducing our need for chemical cleaning agents," says Bendt Dahl.
The entire SuperBrugsen building in Ryomgård benefits from it. LAGUR -treated water, but the joy is greatest in the butchery department.
"We have to maintain a high level of hygiene and wash our tiles, floors, and machines every single day. It's much easier to clean when the lime in the water doesn't settle on the tiles and metal, as it did before. We save on both cleaning products and working hours. 10 years with LAGUR at the AAB laundry in Agerkær
In 2014, the AAB laundry at Agerkær took 17 new Miele washing machines into use.
The water softening plant was due for renovation, and in this connection it was natural to look at alternative environmentally friendly options. LAGUR was chosen and installed in September 2014, with high hopes that it could replace the classic water softening but also with a great deal of skepticism. It was almost too easy and simple to be true.
Over a period of 18 months, the development of the heat sinks in the machines was continuously monitored. The conclusion after 18 months was that the machines required the same service as when using a classic softening solution.
In addition to the fact that the AAB laundry at Agerkær has not had to buy salt since the water softener was disconnected, an operating and maintenance-free water treatment solution, enabling the release of resources for other purposes.
