How much CO2 is emitted by LAGUR?

In connection with the preparation of our first ESG report, we have calculated our CO2 emissions. LAGUR A/S emits 135 kg of CO2 per plant sold. This corresponds to the production of 12 t-shirts or 405 cucumbers.

IN LAGUR We try to incorporate sustainability into everything we do. This does not mean that we ARE sustainable, because we will always leave a footprint on the planet. But we try to reduce our footprint where we can.

Our work to reduce our CO2 emissions is well underway, and now we can put a figure on our emissions for the first time.

We have had our first ESG report prepared, and in this connection we have calculated our CO2 emissions for the financial year 2022-23.

Equivalent to the production of 12 T-shirts

Our climate accounts show that LAGUR A/S emits 135 kg CO2e per product sold. This corresponds to the production of 12 t-shirts or 405 cucumbers per product sold. water treatment plant , we sell.

CO2e stands for CO₂ equivalents, which expresses how much CO2 emissions other greenhouse gases correspond to together with CO2 itself.

In calculating our emissions, BeWo was used, which is a platform for quantifying ESG and emissions.

Scopes 1, 2 and 3

According to the most widely accepted method for calculating emissions, the so-called 'Greenhouse Gas Protocol', companies should divide their emissions into three scopes. This helps to understand which business activities have the greatest impact on the climate accounts.

Scope 1 covers direct emissions from activities that the company itself controls, i.e. emissions from our own vehicles and our own heat and energy production plants.

Scope 2 covers the indirect emissions from the energy LAGUR buyer, i.e. electricity or heat. Here, the discharge takes place elsewhere, e.g. at our local district heating plant.

Scope 3 covers all other indirect emissions from LAGUR 's value chain.

We continue the work

The clear largest part of LAGUR 's emissions – 98.4% – occur in Scope 3 and include indirect emissions from purchased goods and services.

With our new climate accounts, we have gained a useful tool to further reduce our emissions, both on our own and in collaboration with our suppliers.

We constantly want to be the most sustainable solution on the market. In addition to the upcoming ESG report, we are also working on an LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) of our products themselves.

LCA calculation is a method for calculating the environmental impacts and resource consumption associated with a single product throughout its entire life cycle, and thus our customers will be able to include a LAGUR plant emissions in their own climate accounts.
