Energy renovation and LAGUR often go hand in hand

The Danish Energy Agency's building fund, where private homeowners, homeowners' associations and cooperative housing associations can receive subsidies to make their homes more climate-friendly, is DKK 675 million in 2021. For many, it will be natural to supplement the project with a LAGUR systems, when they still optimize the home's water and heating.

Energy renovation makes it obvious

There is no wrong time when it comes to installing a chemical- and maintenance-free LAGUR -plants that minimize limescale problems without changing the natural, healthy composition of the water. But some times are more obvious than others!

For example, it is our experience that some of the LAGUR -systems, which have been installed in private homes, homeowners' and cooperative housing associations over the years as an alternative to conventional water softening plants with salt, have come into place in connection with energy renovations, where the focus was already on optimizing the property's or building's energy supply.

OPTIMIZING HOME OPERATIONS

Likewise, it will certainly prove obvious for many homeowners, homeowners' and cooperative housing associations to connect a chemical-free LAGUR -plants without the need for salt on their energy project if they take advantage of the Danish Energy Agency's new building fund for 2021 of DKK 675 million. The building fund can be applied for by private individuals, homeowners' and cooperative housing associations who are thinking about carrying out energy renovation.

Tax-free subsidies can be applied for, among other things, to optimize the operation of the home. This may involve, for example, establishing balanced mechanical ventilation with heat recovery using a heat exchanger, heat recovery from the exhaust air by extraction via a heat pump, or conversion to a water-based space heating system.

FOR THE BENEFIT OF PEOPLE AND INSTALLATIONS

The building fund is earmarked for energy improvements and thus does not cover investment in a LAGUR systems, but for many homeowners and associations, it is a natural extension of energy renovation to look at whether the quality of the water entering the property can be improved for the benefit of both the comfort of the residents and the lifespan of the installations.

IN LAGUR We welcome support schemes such as the current building fund – and not just because we might have the opportunity to contribute to some of the projects. We generally support energy renovations because they are both good for the environment and for the residents, who get a healthier home with lower consumption costs.

That ambition often goes hand in hand with that chemical-free LAGUR -plant and its positive effects on the climate, environment and wallet, because it reduces the need for cleaning agents and energy for water treatment, among other things.

SHORT PAYBACK – LONG LIFE

For owner and cooperative housing associations, the repayment period is LAGUR -plants typically last less than a year. In return, the environment and nature benefit from the investment in LAGUR throughout the entire life of the chemical- and maintenance-free system.
