252 HOMES IN GARTNERBYEN GET WATER FROM LAGUR -INSTALLATION
KD Companies have chosen water treatment from LAGUR to its 252 rental homes in Odense's new district of Gartnerbyen. The goal is to reduce limescale deposits when the tenants move out, and longer life for the installations.
A new green district, Gartnerbyen, is springing up in Odense on the large plot of land where the fruit and vegetable company GASA Odense was once located.
Gartnerbyen contains modern and sustainable rental housing, condominiums and townhouses in a new neighborhood that connects Bolbro and Vesterbro.
When the district is completed in 2025, it will accommodate more than 1,600 homes spread over the area's total area of 140,000 square meters.
LAGUR FOR 252 HOMES
252 of the homes are being built by KD Selskaberne, which has chosen to install water treatment plant from LAGUR in connection with the construction.
“There is a lot limescale in the water in Odense. We have chosen LAGUR from an operational approach to ensure the longest possible lifespan of radiators, toilet cisterns and other installations. We also hope that there will then be less limescale deposits in the shower when our tenants move out,” says Lars Zülau Henriksen, property director at KD Selskaberne.
HARD WATER IN ODENSE
According to the Funen water company VandCenter Syd, which supplies water to large parts of Odense Municipality, the water in the area is described as hard with hardness levels from 16 to 19°dH.
KD Selskaberne has installed 12 LAGUR -plants on the main waterways in its buildings.
LAGUR FOR THE FIRST TIME
This is the first time that KD Selskaberne has installed LAGUR .
“It was our developer’s advisor who mentioned LAGUR as an option, and was aware of a housing association that used LAGUR . We entered into dialogue with the housing association, which had good experiences. The test of LAGUR 's effect on heating elements in washing machines, which was carried out by the Danish Technological Institute, also had a major impact on our choice of LAGUR .”
LIFESPAN AND ECONOMY
KD Selskaberne has previously considered a conventional water softening plants , but did not think it would be the right solution for domestic water, as the older part of the population in particular benefits from it limescale , which they are supplied with through drinking water.
"A conventional system would also be a much larger investment. If we can extend the life of installations and materials without removing the lime from the water, it is, in our opinion, a win-win," says Lars Zülau Henriksen.
