LAGUR ARE GOOD FRIENDS WITH BOTH THE ENVIRONMENT AND THE SEA

June 5 is UN Environment Day, and June 8 marks UN World Oceans Day. IN LAGUR we support both. First and foremost, we do it in action with all our customers on a daily basis by virtue of our chemical-free water treatment .

Did you really think that June 5th is primarily Father's Day and Constitution Day? Don't worry, neither Father's Day nor Constitution Day is in danger of being abolished, but the two celebrations can look forward to increasing competition in the coming years.

June 5th is also the day when UN Environment Day is celebrated around the world. And as global awareness of the planet's need for help from humanity continues to grow, it is to be expected that the annual celebration of the planet's environmental state will eventually receive much greater attention than it does today.

WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY

World Environment Day was first held in 1973 and has since been a platform for spreading awareness of the many environmental problems in the world.

IN LAGUR We like anniversaries because they draw attention to values that we humans can easily agree to cherish, and because LAGUR with our chemical-free water treatment plant supports the work on several of the challenges we humans grapple with when we want to make the world a more sustainable, better place for nature, people, families and businesses.

limescale THERE IS A SIGN OF HEALTH IN THE WATER

LAGUR is the environmentally friendly alternative to conventional water softening plants , i.e. ion exchange systems, which reduce the hardness of the water by removing limescale In the process, these descaling systems use salt, thereby increasing the water's sodium content, which we already consume too much of according to health recommendations, and which is also hard on plumbing installations.

IN LAGUR we acknowledge that limescale can be annoying in everyday life, but we do not declare war on lime. limescale in the water is a sign of health, because the lime typically comes with many healthy minerals that we also benefit from.

SEA DAY

Another global UN day that falls in the spring and is written on the calendar at LAGUR , World Oceans Day is June 8th.

What does the ocean have to do with drinking water? Quite a lot, because the way we handle our drinking and household water has a major impact on the water in the oceans, which are by far the largest water resource on the planet.

Water is one of many focus areas in the UN's Sustainable Development Goals, but perhaps the most important, because on a planet without water, our fight against poverty, hunger and inequality will be in vain.

LIFE IN THE SEAS

With our chemical-free water treatment plant LAGUR directly supports three of the UN's Sustainable Development Goals. These are Clean Water and Sanitation (SDG 6), Responsible Consumption and Production (12) and Life in the Ocean (14).

Both pollution and so-called acidification harm animal and plant life in the world's oceans. In step with industrialization and our emissions of CO2, the pH value in the oceans has fallen because the ocean water absorbs CO2 from the atmosphere. For many organisms in the ocean, life is linked to narrow pH ranges.

With its low power consumption and by not using salt and chemicals, it reduces LAGUR the carbon footprint we create when we want a home without limescale problems . LAGUR also uses less water and does not discharge wastewater with chemical residues – benefiting the global water cycle and life in the world's oceans.
