Water is one of the most important things we humans have.

March 22nd is World Water Day. It marks LAGUR every year, because water is a prerequisite for life. We can't have too much clean, healthy water. It works LAGUR for March 22nd – and all other days throughout the year.

Water Day!

Many dates throughout the year have been designated by the UN as theme days, focusing on a topic that is of great importance to the well-being of both humans and the Earth. March 22 is one of them.

On this date, people around the globe celebrate our shared water, because water is one of the basic requirements for life.

In Denmark, it is a day that energy companies, water utilities and other companies in the water industry are keen to mark, because it is a welcome opportunity to remind everyone that water is important – and that the good, healthy and natural water we enjoy in this country is not something to be taken for granted.

We must take care of it if we want to preserve it.

NATURAL WATER WITHOUT CHEMISTRY

IN LAGUR March 22nd is of course also a date that means something extra. At the very core of our company is the ambition to ensure consumers and companies natural water without chemicals – even if they also want to minimize their limescale problems .

Natural water and minimized limescale problems should not exclude each other.

In many places in the world, the water is contaminated with chemicals and bacteria. In Denmark, we can just turn on the water and drink it from the tap without worry. We are privileged.

It is worth remembering on March 22nd.

WATER DAY SINCE 1993

Water Day on this date was first marked in 1993. The idea for Water Day arose in connection with the UN Conference on Environment and Development in Rio de Janeiro in 1992.

World Water Day was introduced at the initiative of the UN, which launched the idea in connection with its Conference on Environment and Development in Rio de Janeiro in 1992.

It was a conference that focused on “sustainable development” – an abstract concept for many people and companies. Back then. Today we have become smarter, and both consumers and companies have since become many times more aware of how important it is that we limit our impact on the earth's resources.

And one of the most important resources we have is water.

A PREREQUISITE FOR LIFE

Water is a prerequisite for life, and without water, our fight against the destruction of nature, poverty, hunger and inequality will be in vain.

With our chemical-free water treatment plant supports LAGUR directly three of the UN's Sustainable Development Goals. These are Clean Water and Sanitation (SDG 6), Responsible Consumption and Production (12), Climate Action (13) and Life in the Ocean (14).

In contrast to conventional water softening plants emits LAGUR not wastewater. It benefits biodiversity. Both on land and not least in the water that binds us humans together across the globe.

WATER CONNECTS THE WORLD TOGETHER

The concept of biodiversity covers the variation of species and the diversity of ecosystems in nature. The greater the variation of animals and plants, the healthier the planet we live on, because as many ecosystems as possible are in good health.

Ecosystems share water. Water connects the world, and natural water without chemicals helps people, nature and the planet as a whole to live – for the benefit of all. Even if there are some of us who would like to be free from limescale problems .

Here in February 2024, you could read that the residents of one of the world's largest cities, Mexico City, are now resorting to desperate methods to obtain water because increasingly small amounts of precipitation are reducing the amount of water in the groundwater basins that are supposed to provide citizens with water during dry periods.

In Denmark, we can just turn on the water and drink it from the tap without worries.

We are privileged, and in addition to the help that Danish aid and water technology can provide to Mexicans and other people in the world who suffer from water shortages, we owe it to mark Water Day every year on March 22nd.

That is why World Water Day, March 22nd, also means a lot to LAGUR !
