YES THANKS TO HEALTHY WATER IN PLENTY OF QUANTITIES

A new EU directive must ensure healthier drinking water – and more of it. The quality of drinking water must be better, and the excessive water waste in Europe must be reduced. We are already working intensively on this in LAGUR .

IN LAGUR WE WORK FOR BETTER DRINKING WATER AND LESS WATER WASTE

We are pleased that EU environment ministers have just adopted a new drinking water directive, which is expected to enter into force in 2022.

The directive means that there will now be a number of uniform requirements for the quality of drinking water throughout the EU, which will help ensure healthy and clean drinking water for even more Europeans.

For example, the Drinking Water Directive sets requirements for how high concentrations of chemicals may be released from taps and pipes that are in contact with drinking water.

In addition, water utilities must inform citizens about the quality of drinking water and how much it costs. Water utilities must also strengthen efforts against water waste – among other things, by becoming better at informing citizens about water waste.

CLIMATE CHANGE IS PRESSING RESOURCES

Climate change, in particular, is increasing the pressure on our drinking water resources, and EU countries can overall become much better at reducing water waste.

If all EU countries were at Denmark's level, many millions of cubic meters of water could be saved annually. In some EU countries, more than 50 percent of drinking water is wasted en route due to leaky pipes.

Many pipe bursts are caused by turbulence and increased pressure load in places with large irregularities of limescale tearing loose larger limescale plugs , so that holes in the pipe created by galvanic corrosion are exposed and burst further.

LAGUR 's system prevents pipe bursts because LAGUR -treated water , where the form of the lime is converted from crystals to granules, acts like fine sandpaper against the lime deposits on the inside of the pipe.

When LAGUR treats the water, it does not mean that all the lime will disappear now or for many, many years to come. LAGUR -water primarily reduces the largest internal concentrations of limescale , which otherwise creates turbulence in the water and increases the risk of pipe bursts.

LAGUR results in smoother water flow and better water pressure, extending the life of the pipe and minimizing water waste.

NEW EU DIRECTIVE ENSURES HEALTHIER DRINKING WATER

Far from all EU citizens are as lucky as Danes to be able to drink clean water from the tap. After LAGUR 's opinion, however, we should not rest on our laurels here at home.

We must maintain a constant focus on ensuring continued healthy drinking water with as few chemicals and other harmful substances as possible.

LAGUR is a 100% chemical-free water treatment plant that does not use the large amounts of salt seen in conventional plants.

By simply changing the structure of limescale preserves LAGUR The healthy drinking water's natural content of limescale and minerals benefits the environment, body and teeth.

With the new EU directive, more EU citizens can hopefully look forward to healthier drinking water – and more of it.
