LAGUR's first ESG report is ready

In our first ESG report, companies, advisors and partners can now see how LAGUR working with different forms of sustainability.

IN LAGUR We see the work of making our products and operations as sustainable as possible as a duty. A duty to ourselves, our customers and partners, the world around us and the generations after us.

We are pleased with the stricter requirements for responsibility for companies because it motivates us to step up and fulfill our role as a supplier of chemical-free water treatment in a way that matches the essence of the product we deliver: an easier everyday life with healthy, natural water.

The goal is to be transparent like water

We want to be as transparent about our sustainability work as the clean water our facilities leave behind. That's why we've taken the opportunity to produce an ESG report, because our goal is for our customers to be able to use our products to limit their own resource consumption and their own climate impact, and to do that they need documentation.

Our first ESG report, covering our efforts in the 2022-2023 financial year, is now available and can be requested by interested advisors and companies.

The EU's latest guidelines

The report is built around the EU's latest guidelines for preparing ESG reports.

The guidelines require a so-called dual materiality analysis as a basis for selecting reporting points. We have not yet carried out this dual materiality analysis, but we report the information we have, which is within the EU's latest requirements. Dual materiality means that as a company we must not only consider how we can influence various sustainability issues, but also how, for example, climate change could affect LAGUR We expect to complete the dual materiality analysis before the next reporting period.

The ESG report describes how our behavior and products influence and work with issues such as climate change, pollution, water and marine resources, biodiversity and ecosystems, resource use and circular economy, diversity and the local communities in which we or our products operate.

Our first climate report

In connection with the ESG report, we have also prepared our first climate report on our emissions in scope 1, 2 and 3. The climate report shows that LAGUR as a company has emissions equivalent to 135 kg CO2e (CO2 equivalents) per water treatment plant , we sell.

How much is 135 kg CO2e? Well, that would be equivalent to the emissions associated with producing 12 t-shirts or 405 cucumbers.

The ESG report has been created in collaboration with VTuxen Sustainability , and BeWo , a platform for quantifying ESG and emissions, has been used in calculating our emissions.

Important tools

As we constantly strive to be the most sustainable solution on the market, our ESG report and climate accounting in 2024 will be accompanied by an LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) calculation of our products themselves.

LCA calculation is a method for calculating the environmental impacts and resource consumption associated with a single product throughout its entire life cycle, and thus our customers will be able to include a LAGUR plant emissions in their own climate accounts.

For us, the ESG report, climate accounting and LCA calculation are important tools that help us reduce our emissions further and generally act more sustainably, both on our own and in collaboration with our suppliers.
