How does LAGUR HOME work?

LAGUR is an environmentally friendly and chemical-free alternative to the traditional water softening plant using salt.

The technology works using electromagnetism and a patented method that changes the physical form of the lime from angular (calcite) to rounder (aragonite).

When the limescale changes shape, it has fewer contact surfaces and therefore has a much harder time sticking to pipes, fixtures and household appliances.

The treatment takes place without adding chemicals, without using extra water and without discharging wastewater.

Easy, flexible and cheap to operate

LAGUR HOME consists of a control unit and a treatment pipe, which is installed directly in your main water pipe after the water meter. An authorised plumber can install it quickly and easily.

Once installed, the system is operation and maintenance-free. There is no need for a service agreement, and the warranty runs for a full five years.

You can choose to buy or rent the system – and if you choose to rent, there is no start-up fee or commitment. The rental agreement can be terminated from month to month, and after five years the system is automatically yours.

Operating costs are minimal – the system only uses around 12 watts, equivalent to approximately 2 kWh per week.

What is the difference between LAGUR and water softening?

So-called water softening recudes the hardness of water by removing limescale from the water in a process that requires regular refilling with salt. This increases the sodium content of the water and changes its taste.

LAGUR HOME does not remove limescale from the water, but simply changes the form of the limescale so that it deposits much less on surfaces and in installations.

LAGUR HOME is completely chemical-free and takes care of itself on a daily basis without the need for any additional additives. This means that the water still tastes completely natural.

How much space does it require?

The short answer is half a meter, vertically or horizontally, in line with your water meter. LAGUR HOME does not require much space and is easy for a plumber to install.
The treatment pipe measures approx. 33 cm and is installed in the main water pipe after the water meter. The treatment pipe is connected to a control unit, which is mounted on the wall. The control box must be connected to a standard 230-volt grounded outlet within two meters. You can either use your own plumber or use a plumber that LAGUR collaborates with in your area and that we find for the job.

How long is a rental agreement valid for?

A lease agreement for LAGUR HOME runs for a maximum of 60 months, i.e. 5 years. You can terminate the lease agreement at any time on a month-to-month basis. After five years, the lease agreement automatically expires and ownership of the system is transferred to you.

Is LAGUR approved for drinking water ?

Yes, LAGUR is approved for drinking water after the official Danish GDV scheme (Approval for Drinking Water).
This scheme ensures that materials and components used in drinking water installations meet health requirements and do not release harmful substances into the water.

Does LAGUR require a service agreement?

No. In short, there is no service agreement with our system, as LAGUR HOME does not require maintenance.

If, contrary to expectations, it should become relevant to get your LAGUR HOME -system checked by a technician, it is free of charge for you during the warranty period.

Does LAGUR change the water taste?

No, not in the slightest.

LAGUR is chemical-free water treatment and does not alter the composition of the water. LAGUR only changes the form of the lime, so that the good taste and healthy properties of the water remain intact.

How much power does it use? LAGUR Home ?

With LAGUR HOME , you get water treatment that is inexpensive to operate.

LAGUR HOME only uses approx. 2 kWh per week, corresponding to approx. € 0.6 at average prices (2024).

On an annual basis, this amounts to approximately 104 kWh or € 35 for chemical-free water treatment and significantly fewer limescale problems on a daily basis.

How long is the warranty?

You get a 5-year warranty.

And since LAGUR HOME is designed to be service and maintenance-free, there will be no cost to you, but to us, if your LAGUR HOME unexpectedly requires a technician visit.
