Both technologies aim to reduce limescale formation, but the way they affect the water is very different.

Sound through metal – or treatment directly in the water?

Ultrasound attempts to affect the limescale through the pipe wall. The challenge is that sound waves travel differently through different materials – and it can be difficult to predict how much energy actually reaches the water.

Iron, copper, plastic and stainless steel pipes conduct sound differently, and the thickness of the pipe also plays a role. Today, many buildings are constructed with plastic water pipes, which have low sound conductivity and often reflect a large part of the sound waves. Therefore, the effect of ultrasound can be different from installation to installation, depending on the materials and conditions.

A physical impact with a measurable effect

With LAGUR we use a different method. Our technology is based on low-frequency, pulsating magnetism – and most importantly: The system is mounted directly in the water flow, so the water is treated directly and not through the pipe.

When the water passes through LAGUR 's treatment pipe , the crystal form of the lime changes from calcite to aragonite. Aragonite has a rounder and more porous structure than calcite and therefore does not stick to pipes, heating elements and tiles to the same extent as untreated limescale It provides a stable and uniform effect, regardless of pipe type and water pressure.

The effect lasts a long time – but not forever

Because LAGUR working directly in the water, we ensure that the structure of limescale actually changes and is maintained for a period of practical significance. The changed structure lasts for a minimum of 100 hours after treatment.

Regardless of the type of treatment you choose, the limescale will eventually return to its original form. This applies to all methods, as the natural crystal structure of the limescale is restored over time as the water moves through the system. The key is therefore not that the change lasts forever – because that is not possible – but that it lasts long enough to reduce limescale deposits in everyday water consumption.

A centrally mounted LAGUR -plants can thus provide treated water with significantly fewer limescale problems for entire properties – without extra energy consumption.

Built for many years of operation

LAGUR HOME and LAGUR PRO are developed for stable operation and high quality – even under demanding conditions. Both systems are Danish-made and energy-optimized, so they use very little power.

The construction is solid and made of metal – not plastic – which makes the systems suitable for long-term operation. The robust construction can be felt in the weight: LAGUR HOME weighs about 2 kg, while LAGUR PRO Weighs from approximately 10 kg and up, depending on model.

The systems are installed by authorized plumbers, so you are assured of correct installation and full utilization of the system's function.

Harmless technology – also for humans and animals

Unlike high-frequency sound, which in some cases can bother animals, LAGUR with low-frequency magnetism that is completely harmless. The technology does not emit any sound, heat or vibrations – and you have to be very close to the system to even feel the faint pulsation.
